If you had 15 to 20 minutes of radio time to speak to people about making change and being whole, what would you say? What would you emphasize?

The question was asked first on LinkedIn where other answers can be found. My answer was:

“Dear David,

A fill-in the blanks outline (try touching the following bases when it's your time up to bat):

1. WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM.

2. WHERE YOU WANT TO GO DURING THE CONVERSATION.

3. WHY YOU'VE WAITED TO TALK ABOUT YOUR SUBJECT.

4. WHAT YOUR WISE ONES HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT.

5. WHAT THE PROS AND CONS ARE IN TALKING ABOUT IT.

6. WHAT THE "POWERS THAT BE" ARE SAYING ABOUT IT.

7. WHAT YOU'VE DISCOVERED ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL AGENDA REGARDING THE TOPIC.

8. WHAT THE FACTS AND REASONS ARE ABOUT THE TOPIC AND HOW YOU'VE BEEN CONTENDING WITH THEM.

9. WHAT INSIGHTS AND OVERSIGHTS YOU'VE OBSERVED EMERGING FROM DISCUSSIONS.

10. WHAT STORIES YOU WANT TO TELL THAT BEST ILLUSTRATE HOW YOU FEEL ABOUT THE TOPIC.

11. WHAT YOU'VE BEEN WILLING TO RISK FOR THE AUDIENCE TO GAIN WHAT YOU HOPE THEY DO BY LISTENING.

12. WHAT THE TELL-TALE SIGNS ARE THAT HAVE ENCOURAGED YOUR CONTINUING TO TALK ABOUT THE TOPIC.

Be yourself and you'll do fine. John”

What do you think?

Please include your comment here or contact me to discuss.

Thanks.
